Who needs the mall for people watching when you have The Public Library? Allow me to enlighten you...

case in point #1.
I just watched a girl, my age or older, pick her nose. right out in the open! SICK! I don't know why I looked. I guess it is like roadkill--don't wanna look but you just can't help it?

case in point #2.
there is a man here, asleep at his computer. he keeps waking himself up as he falls forward a lot, but it is only moments before he's totally out again. this kind of irritates me because he is hindering the use of electrical outlets by people who are not, in fact, sleeping at the library. electrical outlets are a hot commodity in this joint! last week I was charging rent on them.

okay not really, that is a lie. but the computer terminals where outlets are located have 2 plugs and I only need one. as such, I was swapping out the power cords of two ladies at the table behind me. I probably could have weaseled them out of money if I'd really tried.

alright, I guess I'm back at it (the checklist that is). I have a paper due this weekend, a test later this week, and basically all kinds of crap to do. in case you are wondering, I'm not at the NY Public Library. It is, however, a NY landmark I need to mark off my list...

I have had a BUSY week!!

I mentioned in my last post that I was going to have an Extreme day. Well...monday...Extreme Home Makeover in Voluntown! I was a volunteer in the VIP/Media tent, got a blue shirt, all that jazz. It was neat to see all the work completed during the short time I was there. You can read more about it here: www.extremehomebybruno.com. Tuesday, well I don't even remember what I did on Tuesday, and I certainly don't have any photos, but I did have some fun on Wednesday. I had some girlfriends over for a Yankee Swap Christmas party and made some tasty food and enjoyed the company of my friends. a couple photos of our shennanigans...
Priya got my gift and I think she really liked it! haha!

Thursday was also our 4-year wedding anniversary for the TeeJ and I. I got to open my gifts that evening. He had already gotten his gift, thanks to Amazon ruining it by shipping a 22" flat-screen TV to our house in the ORIGINAL packaging...but I don't think he was complaining too much. Here I am with my pressies:

Saturday, I volunteered in the morning at a Christmas party for underpriviledged kids. I painted faces for 2 hours. It was the longest 2 hours of my life. I was tempted to start passing out Ritalin (well, if I'd had any). Here I am after it is over, with a co-worker and Santa, and I'm so freakin happy! excuse the blurry photo :)
 

afterwards, I did something pretty unadvisable. I went to the mall. I thought I was going to kill myself before the day was over. let me just say, the clerks at Macy's are REALLY in the holiday spirit (insert sarcasm where you feel appropriate). I was buying some goodies for my friend's bridal shower. after that, though, I further inflicted the pain upon myself. I went to buy some skinny jeans at forever 21 so I could fit them in my boots ($12.50!). the customers in THAT store got on my nerves, because like, oh my god, it was totally hot in there and everyone was like, totally completely talking like, oh my god. anyway, here I am with my friend Brooke at her shower.

Today, TJ and I went to Texas Roadhouse (my fav) to celebrate our anniversary. We also went to see Four Christmases which was pretty funny and hit kinda close to home! Ha! :)

october 12--the beat goes on!

1-yesterday after getting fat eating at Outback, we went to petsmart. I found what I'm getting Lilly for Christmas. can't go wrong! {please notice, I'm sporting my Kentucky blue. C-A-T-S! except I'm in the D-O-G aisle!}

2-spent from about 9:30 am this morning to about 7:30 pm this evening working on accounting. seriously? my life? not always fun and games people! (like my question marks, a la jen lancaster)

3-don't crap your pants or anything, but I scrapbooked. NO KIDDING. the pictures on this layout are going on a year old, so I figured it was about time...

4-if I didn't get you the first time, you'll definitely soil yourself now folks. not just one page, but two!

 

someone please smack me, because I really can't even stand the word "folks"...

5-kinda sorta hate my husband just a little bit. tomorrow he's off work for a "government holiday." what kind of crap is that? friday, he was off on "special liberty." more crap. I have to work tomorrow. am considering just not showing up since I'll probably be the only person there (no, really)...but thats not really my style.

october 9? oh no he din-dt!

in an effort to post more frequently, perhaps I shall stick to the "list-y" mode like the last post. hope that is okay...

1-Currently have a batch of chili brewing. It is a recipe I've never made before, but I decided to try it out because we have a "chili cook-off" at work tomorrow. The recipe is a la Cincinnati Skyline Chili which has both cinnamon and Worcestershire in it. We shall see--have no clue really how it will turn out!

2-Am so excited! The Office starts in just 3 minutes!! Cannot wait! It was bumped last week due to the debate and this week is sure to be a real gut-buster. **ok, I was wrong. It starts at 9!** The other reason I'm so excited about The Office is that it will not be interrupted by a super long MBA chat night! It is our off week for "fall break." Yippee!!

3-Apparently I do a pretty good Paula Deen impression. Today three of us were discussing cooking shows (ya know, in preparation for the chili show down tomorrow) and someone mentioned Paula Deen. I promptly piped in with a "Hey Ya'll!" and got wide-eyed looks and a, "THAT was really good." This pleases me because I love doing different voices and am a bit...animated. I've noticed this about myself more often recently, and wonder if this makes me seem immature. FYI, I am wise beyond my years. If I wanna do a funny voice, that is my right, yo.

4-Feeling like this has been the longest week ever. Really, it shouldn't feel that way since I didn't even go to to work on Monday. There has been lots of drama. Lots of just...ugh. This week, I have spent a lot of time out of the office, but still. Wish I had a 4-day weekend like my skanky husband! Boo!!

5-Lilly is going to be Miss Pepe LePew for Halloween. It is only fitting of course since she once chased a skunk, I screamed bloody murder, and it is only by the grace of God that she didn't get sprayed. Problem is that I put her ears thru the holes on the "cap" thing. She shakes really hard and gets it off her head. Doesn't she look miserable?

reasons NOT to live in Connecticut

In Connecticut our gas is down to $3.79 a gallon. I consider this national news.

Today I heard that gas in Massachusetts is only $3.55 a gallon. It is also cheaper in New Jersey, where it is against the law to pump your own gas, yet full service is still cheaper than in CT where you do all the work yourself. Upon his return from San Diego last week, TJ also said it was cheaper in California. CALIFORNIA!

I am so ready to move out of this crap state. Not to be cynical or anything, just ya know, for fun...

9. The toilets in my house don't work. Worth a damn. The handles fall off. Sometimes they explode. Literally.
10. When my neighbors cook fried bologna, smelly fish, or smoke a pack of cigarettes all at once, it stinks up my house. Then they curse at their children. LOUDLY.

TJ also wants me to blog about what I did last night. When he took the dog outside, he let in a moth. I proceeded to get my new handy-dandy Dustbuster (which I love by the way), stand on top of the couch, and wave the Dustbuster around (using the word muther-chucker) until I sucked up the moth. The good news is that I succeeded. The bad news is that TJ laughed so hard he nearly shot milk out of his nose.

friday funnies (on saturday)

the title of this post makes no sense I'm sure! I just couldn't think of anything witty...so let's pretend I wrote it yesterday! ;)

tomorrow (sunday) is my 25th birthday. this morning, I went to the mailbox on lilly's walk, because I didn't check it yesterday. inside I had two envelopes--one from my grandparents (pink and obviously a birthday card), and one from my mom (smaller and white; I assumed maybe she got me a gift card since I didn't give much of a suggestion).

I get inside, open my birthday card from my nanny & papaw. it was a really nice card and had two pictures they'd had taken for their 50th anniversary (coming up this fall). it was sweet. then I go to open the envelope from my mom. I rip into it, and inside is....are you ready for this?? six coupons for a free chicken biscuit at mcdonald's!!! I called her this afternoon and said "I know who loves me more!" as I started to tell her she starts laughing because she knew what I'd gotten. in her defense, when she told me about the coupons a week or two ago, I said "yeah mom, by the time you actually send them to me, they'll be expired!!" guess she proved me wrong!! ha! I do actually have a card and present she just hasn't mailed it yet!

earlier in the week, I was at panera bread. I'd had some meetings in the morning (off-site), and between meetings figured it wouldn't make sense for me to go back to the office given the short period. I went to panera, got online, checked into my office email, etc. when I go to leave, I use the restroom. in the other stall is a mom and little boy (he sounded about 3) and based on what she was saying I could tell she was trying to get him to go. a minute or so passes and he says, "Mommy? I have angry poopy. Why is my poopy angry?? Do you ever have angry poopy?" OMG it took all my willpower NOT to laugh out loud at this kid!!

fast forward to friday, and I am in fact, very angry towards poopy!! every morning before I leave for work, I walk lilly. leave it to me to step in a pile of fresh dog crap!! I was so mad! it wasn't even hers! brr! my shoes are out on the patio, and I am considering throwing them in the trash. probably not but they smell awful. what a great start to the day huh?!

I'm pretty behind on some reading for school, so that is all for now!
